HERE ARE SOME THINGS TO THINK ABOUT WHEN CHOOSING OUTFITS FOR YOUR CUSTOM PORTRAITURE SESSION.
Chances are you have some items that will work great. It’s also a great time to treat yourself to something special too! Make sure they fit well and are not too oversized. Most important, be comfortable. I’m happy to talk over choices. Feel free to send me a text with some of your selections. Don’t forget to check out any layers and make sure things lay right. Don’t forget to iron and bring things on a hanger. Also, Wrinkle releasers usually work great. Don’t forget to think about shoes too. Accessories are a great way to personalize and outfit and even capture a special keepsake. A hat or funky accessory can be a lot of fun too. Be yourself, be comfortable and express who you are!
When co-ordinating a group, go for a color family like cool or warm colors and don’t restrict yourselves to just one color. Don’t forget some pops of complimentary colors if you want.
I will provide a lot of assistance with posing. Here are some things to keep in mind, in case we get carried away. Keep you body on an angle to the camera and don’t put hands deep in your pockets. I may start out with all these things right but don’t want to miss any moves when I’m behind the camera, that result in little issues.
A few tips for the day of the session are to remember to bring and apply lip balm. Lip balm is a good idea for the days leading up to your session as well. Dry lips can stick in various places leaving gaps. You may want to apply a bit of lotion at home. A little lotion on hands and run lightly over the hair, avoiding the top of your head, can help with fly-aways. Use a lint brush if needed on your clothing. Feel free to apply or bring hairspray. Also, drink extra water the day before your session and earlier that same day. Bring along a water bottle too.
Thanks! And let’s chat about all this to make sure we are making the most out of your custom portraiture session!
