I am so proud of this Teen Photo Session ~ Detroit! This was a photography project that I took part in, in June! welcome to part two of my blog post about this awesome session. I’m so excited to share more. We did this session as a way to bring more awareness to bullying and treat these girls to a very special day in the process. Each girl was involved due to having had a rough time with bullying. It was so nice to see them all bond and enjoy the special treatment! Who can’t use another reminder of how special they are? I had so much fun working along with my friends Stephanie of LemmonMade Photography and Brandie of Brandie Pahl Photography. Stephanie and Brandi did most of the photo session concept, working with each of the girls to highlight their uniqueness. We started with tulle skirts and t-shirts and each girl brought her own style and flair! My pre-session job was doing some research on some great spots in Detroit. Since I used to in-line skate all over Detroit it was the perfect job for me! I lined up some spots to check out and Stephanie and I did some pre-session location scouting before the session. After hair and make up at Salon Blue in Lake Orion we were good to go… We started in Eastern market and you can see those images here. Detroit Teen Photo Session
We went over to The Z Garage and found the perfect spot to once again showcase all the girls.
I was dying over this cool spot. The girls had a quiet moment to look over the city and I adored the light we caught them in.
Just outside the Z Garage we hit the streets of Detroit. Check out that Shepard Fairey mural in the background!

Fun on the streets of Detroit!
Thanks to all the girls and their parents for coming along on this adventure with us!

These are so cool! I love the tutus in front of the really amazing paintings in the heart of Detroit. You captured these teens so beautifully and I love how you always tie Detroit’s unique artsy vibe in your photos.
Wow this was an amazing idea you had with these teens girls. Not only did you lift their confidence but you can tell this really brought the girls true self out in the images. I love how you used your concept of the tutu and let them choose the top. I can image that helped make them feel comfortable having something that represented them as they are as a person. I bet these girls will be lifelong friends sharing obstacle’s they have overcome.
