Senior year is full of milestones, but one of the most cherished traditions has to be senior portraits. They capture a moment in time, a snapshot of who you are just before you embark on the next big adventure of your life. For Lexie, that meant mixing three of her favorite things—flowers, softball, and the beauty of nature. Shelby Heritage Gardens

Our first stop was the beautiful gardens at Heritage Garden in Shelby Township Michigan.  We all loved the flowers at this location that Lexie chose!  We also took advantage of the pond for it’s serene setting.

Our second stop was right around the corner for some softball photos, a big part of Lexie’s life.

In our pre-consultation with Lexie and her mom, we talked about Lexie’s love of nature and decided that a visit to Stony Creek Metro Park.  And since we also discovered that Lexie and I were both Swifties we had that music playing on our way there, as August was slipping way.  I’ve photographed Lexie since she moved to Michigan when she was around six so we had some catching up to do.  I loved hearing about her most recent campus visit to Madison Wisconsin.  As the sun began to dip, the lighting turned magical. This was the moment to capture Lexie in her element: laid back, soft smiles, the golden glow of the sun

The flowers showed her love for nature and her free-spirited personality, while the softball gear captured her passion and dedication to the sport.
