Capturing a high school senior’s journey is always an honor, and when Collin, a senior from Rochester High School, came along and his mom asked for his session to highlight his love of running I knew it was going to be something special. With his blond hair and piercing blue eyes, Collin brought energy and enthusiasm to every location we visited. We planned to shoot in three unique spots around downtown Rochester, each one telling a different chapter of his story.  Hope you enjoy these Rochester High School Senior Portraits as much as Collin and his family do!

Downtown Rochester: The Old Metal Fire Escape

Our first stop was in the heart of downtown Rochester, where the charm of old brick buildings and the old metal fire escape added a bit of urban grit to Collin’s portraits. The fire escape we used had this perfect mix of rustic texture and bold shadows, and of course Collin looked relaxed and confident, just right for some city senior portraits.  And of course we fit FUN into every session!

Rochester Municipal Park: A Peaceful Pond with Perfect Lighting

After downtown, we headed over to Rochester Municipal Park, a place where Collin spends a lot of his even if it’s just running by. The park, with its expansive greenery and serene pond, felt like the ideal location to reflect Collin’s quieter side. The water sparkled in the golden hour light, and I knew the setting sun would be perfect to capture the blue in Collin’s eyes.

We found a spot near the pond, where the still water mirrored the trees and sky in the background. And we were lucky to have some great early evening light here!  I’m so glad we made time for a few photos by the pond.

Rochester High School: The Track Field Where It All Happens

Finally, we made our way back to where it all started—Rochester High School. Collin is a dedicated athlete, and his love for running has shaped much of his high school experience. The track is his second home, so it was only fitting to capture him in this space where he’s spent countless hours training for races. We even caught his best running buddy training in the background in one shot.  There’s a unique pride in these images—Collin’s connection to his school, his family’s love of running, and his personal determination as he looks toward the future.

Conclusion: More Than Just Photos

Working with Collin was such a great experience. These aren’t just senior photos; they’re a glimpse into his world and his passions. From the backdrop of downtown Rochester to the serene pond in the municipal park, and finally to the track where he’s poured countless hours of hard work.  Collin’s senior portraits tell the story of who he is—an athlete, a dreamer, and a young man ready to take on the world. Here’s to Collin, and the many miles he will continue to run—both on the track and in life!
