Life by Lens Project – April

I have joined a new photography project called “Life by Lens” with some great fellow photographers.  Each month they take a set of images to portray their lives.  For some of use these images focus on kids, family, hobbies, dreams…  This month my Life by Lens features my daughter.  I’ve had parts of this photo session in my head for almost a year.  Of course today is the day the posts are due and I finally took my images today.  It won’t always be this close to the deadline for me – I hope!  And I won’t always have so many images to share but I’m excited about what I shot today.  Parts of today’s compilation of images date back for years and have kept their place in part of my head until today.  More on that later with that set of images.

I’d love it if you checked out more “Life by Lens” creations by Sherri Kelly Photography

My daughter is often one of my business’s biggest fans.  She helps me shop, poses for me and even dreams up inspirations with me.  Today we had a studio session to get an image to hang in her new bedroom.  This lucky little girl got a bedroom make-over when she was at summer camp last August, keep reading I have photos of it below…

We’ve been thinking of throwing some boas, (we need some tutus next time!) etc into a photo session ala Mamma Mia.  Watching the movie again last week we were reminded of our plan.  I love the all the aqua and colors of the sea in the movie.  Here’s a few shots from the dress-up fun we had!

I’ve been planning on capturing some details from her bedroom.  This week we get the last finishing touch – a ‘pool blue’ flokati rug!  How divine!  I think I want to trade bedrooms with her.   Oh look – more aqua and beautiful blue and green tones from the ocean, or Lake Michigan on a sunny day!  I never want to forget these days filled with crafts, kitties, American Girl doll, jewels, bling, fluffy unicorns and more!

I am so glad you joined our group Jeanine – great first post! You have such a sweet little model at home. She really turned on the charm for her photo session. That is a really fun age (she looks about the same as mine) and you captured her style and interests perfectly.

You have put a lot of love in your work, especially Kyra. I loved Mama Mia with all the fun and colors. These pictures capture so much of that. You are a wonderful photographer and love what you do and it shows.
