Rochester Park Senior Portraits

Rochester Park Senior Portraits

This Rochester Park Senior Portraits!  Well, technically we started at the Library since Alyssa is an avid book reader.  Alyssa attends the International Academy for High School.  It’s a very tough school but also provides great opportunities like travel.  She is such a smart an ambitious girl.  It was so great to see the way she lit up when talking about books and shared with me the prologue of her current favorite.  I could quickly see why the book enthralls her.   She has started writing her first novel.  I look forward to getting an autographed copy some day not too far off.  I’m sure she works hard there!  She is also into acting and has performed a few different places in town.  This summer Alyssa checked out a few colleges and is already hard at work back at school.  I hope she has a fantastic Senior year!

During her session I learned a bit about Dr Who and Harry Potter.  At least I had a clue about Harry Potter already.  I love how Alyssa came so prepared with props and attire to accent her interests and personality.  I learned a few things and we had some good laughs along the way too!  Don’t you just love all the water and trails around Rochester?!?

Next, we stopped at the Rochester Municipal Park for a Harry Potter style book break!

Lastly, we stopped by the band shell where Alyssa has been in a few performances.

Rochester, Where you Live Senior Portrait Session

What is your favorite image(s) from Alyssa’s session?  I really love how she made this Rochester Park Senior Portrait session shine with her own style!  I look forward to helping Alyssa’s family preserve these images with some great portrait prints and products.  Let’s talk about how we can make your senior portrait session unique and show off your personality!

Isn’t she just the cutest?!?  She has a sweet personality to go with those good looks!  Little Mia returned to the studio for her birthday photo session complete with cake smash!  I love seeing how she had grown since her newborn session.  If you want to see how beautiful she has been since day one check out her newborn photo session.  This time Mia showed off her birthday dress and shared some smiles then it was cake time!  I love the expressions when little ones explore their cake.  Mia was quite into her frosting for awhile!  Check out the grin she flashed her parents!  Sweetness from head to toes!

Life by Lens ~ Play Ball!

Life by Lens ~ Play Ball!

Play Ball!  This month in the Life by Lens Project I’m sharing some images of my son and his love for baseball.  He looks so old in his uniform this year.  No more little boy, sniff sniff!  This year he played Juniors in Little League so they now have names on their jerseys.  We’re in the big time now.  Ok, not really!  Spring season is over for us.  I wonder what’s next…  He dreams of being on the high school team next year but I know the competition is strong so we’ll see.  I’m glad I’ll have these baseball photos to remember this time before he gets even older on me!

Hello world!

Whew!  Today marks the day I moved to a blogsite.  So you can now find my website and galleries at the same site as my blog.  I’m spoiling my geeky inner self today!  Hope you love the new site.  I’m excited to have all my old blog posts here without a hitch.  Now to fill my galleries…  This website has a lot more powerful tools behind the scenes.  More geekiness for me – it’s all good!

Exhibit Project ~ Beginnings… Rochester MI Photographer

Although days like today severely diminish my convictions, I do believe that Spring is coming.  It’s been a busy winter here.  I kept waiting to catch up with myself.  My IT jobs were busy at times then taxes took me wayyyy too long (I WILL be better organized next year but that’s another story), and life as a mother to three is usually never too slow.  I wanted to focus a lot of my photography business.  My to-do list is a mile long.  I love checking into new products both for clients and for myself (enter better tax tracking software that I purchased!).  I’ve been organizing my hard drive and moving files to a NAS drive.  Go ahead and ask me if you have a techie question and maybe I can help!  I’ve also taken some on-line workshops to improve many aspects of my business.  One workshop was ReStart with Jasmine Star and it was amazing and inspirational.  I became involved in an off-shoot project headed up by Sharina Wunderink.  She explains the Exhibit Project in this blog post.  Basically a group of 36 photographers will post on the 12th of every month.  Yes, I’m starting to work on mine on the 11th!  Hey, better than the 21st, right!  We will follow monthly themes and share stories and inspirations, as we like to do best, through photography.  Although, I must say that in speaking and writing I do get to use my native sarcasm more so I’ve gotta have that too.  Guess that’s why I like to blog!

The first theme is Beginnings.  We haven’t seen much of the beginnings of Spring here in Michigan.  Ok, I do have crocuses but that is about it!  Bring on the forsythia and red buds!  So if I can’t showcase a glorious Michigan Spring, then my next thought was coffee!  It’s one of my first thoughts each day.   I decided to showcase a more powerful Beginning and share some newborn images.  I love these sessions I think it’s time for some more sessions like this!
