What do all of these following professions have in common: business owner, actress, model, realtor? They all need to have a strong head shot portfolio that can truly showcase who they are, and what they are about. Over the past years, I’ve been privileged to become a top Oakland County Head Shot Photographer. I love working with professionals who want to let their image shine.
Models need a great portfolio to show to casting agents. That photo and the quality of it can literally translate to them either getting the part, or not. There are tons of real estate agents across the Detroit-Metro Area, so having a great head shot for all your marketing materials is very important, because your face is becoming part of your branding. The same goes for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Together, we will create a head shot and branding session that is the perfect fit for your individual needs. You may enjoy a more traditional look, or crave something funky and urban to match your artistic personality. Whatever it is, I will work with you to make your vision come to life, and you’ll have images that you will proudly display on your website, in your portfolio, or even one day on a billboard. (Dream big!)
As an Oakland County head shot photographer, I specialize in working with individuals who may not always enjoy getting a portrait done of themselves. I get it; it’s a ton of prep work. In the end, I want you to love your photos, and not have to “live with” something that looks like it was taken in a shopping mall. Marketing to today’s millenials, the difference between a dated-looking head shot and a professional, up-t0-date, amazing photo could be the difference of whether or not they initially book you or just keep scrolling by on Google.
I urge you to look through my pArt of Life Photography head shot gallery. I’d love to talk to you about your portrait vision, and look forward to possibly being your Oakland County head shot photographer.

For Lia’s teen head shots we walked around downtown Rochester for her photo shoot. This teen has talent beyond her years, and oh boy is she gorgeous! She is a beautiful singer and songwriter with a beautiful personality to match! She also plays the guitar and ukulele. Her ukulele is so cute and unique, just like her! I can’t believe how much she has changed since last year’s session. This young lady is going places, to be sure! I’m so glad she chose pArt of Life Photography for her head shot needs.
Such a beauty!
Fun is incorporated in all our photo sessions! Gotta love her fun pose that she rocked out!
Style and silly out-takes! Fun in downtown Rochester!
We spent part of the photo session highlight Lia’s love for music! You really need to check out this beautiful singer/songwriter in person when you have a chance!
Sweet music in the sunlight!

The other week I had the pleasure of doing a photo session for a beautiful singer/songwriter, Rachel Lee Williams. At the risk of sounding cliche I’ve got to say she is beautiful inside and out and boy you should hear her sing! For starters check out her website, Rachel Lee Williams and Rachel’s facebook page. On her website you can find links to her music on iTunes, etc. Here is a link to some great songs by Rachel, from her Lock and Key EP. Rachel has a show coming up this Sunday November 9th in the Pike Room at The Crofoot in Pontiac. You can contact her via her website for tickets. I was at her last show and loved it! I brought my camera along and loved capturing her singing her songs. She has such great passion for her music. Her are some photos from her last shot at The Crofoot. So look for Rachel singing around Rochester, Pontiac and beyond!
Ok, enough talk, on to some of the images from her photo session!

I do what I can to help my clients prepare for their metro Detroit photo sessions and one of the first things is helping out with my ‘What to Wear’ posts. I know a lot goes into preparing for these sessions and getting the final product to match what my client’s envision. With our initial consultation, we talk about location options and I refer them to these helpful posts when they are looking for clothing ideas for their family photo session.
Here are some more great ideas and I can send along info on where to find these outfits so let me know if you want to know more! Also, please feel free to search ‘What to Wear’ on my website to view other posts.
For your pArt of Life Photography photo session try grey tones with pops of color or navy with pops of color! I love the raspberry and aqua with the navy in the second image so much!

I had the pleasure of meeting Olivia last week. What a gem! She is in high school and has been doing some local acting. I really enjoyed talking with her and getting to know her. What a sweet young lady, and very smart. She is going places, I’m sure! Olivia found some time in her busy schedule between acting, sports and all things high school for a photo session one evening last week. We decided to meet up in Rochester for a downtown photo session. We were having so much we also stopped at the Clinton River Trail for some more photos. Here are a few samples from her gallery. Isn’t she just gorgeous?!?

I’ve been busy with a lot of head shots lately, from corporate to acting to realtors, in addition to family portrait sessions. I strive to get to know my clients and let their personalities show through. Everyone ends up with quite a gallery of choices, from standard head shots to full body images. We also get a variety of environment in the photos and there is enough time for outfit changes. On-line representatives for actors and models often let you up-load more than one image so these sessions work out great – giving you plenty of options. In addition to head shots, images can be chosen for zed cards or comp cards. These are approximately 5×8 cards with a 5×7 image on one side and a compilation of about four smaller images on the other side. Stats are also printed on these cards, with name, features, etc. I’m looking forward to two more acting headshot sessions next week. It’s so fun to come up with new places to go and meet new people. I love my job as a photographer. I’m also here after your session to help with print decisions, a few pointers to acting/modeling info, product choices, wall displays for portrait sessions and more!

the studio this week. I could get used to working with more of these kids/young adults! They make my job so easy. Ariana is a singer and I bet her voice is as pretty as she is. She was so great to work with. We would have loved an outdoor session but time was tight for them since they were moving out of state – the next day! It will be cool to follow her too in her future adventures. Many thanks to their awesome vocal instructor to referring them my way!
Now for the hard part – selecting shots to share on a blog post.
