WOW! What fun it was at this Detroit Photo Session! Jenny and Thomas were awesome as we toured around Detroit. They are such a fun and cute couple. This shoot came together thanks to my friend Michele, of Michele Maloney Photography. Jenny is Michele’s hairstylist and she volunteered for a photo session so we could try out some new locations and lighting. Thanks Michele, Jenny and Tom! You guys all seriously rock!
We started off in Eastern Market. I just love the history and the architecture there, from the old brick to the refurbished market sheds and the murals. Oh my, the murals! I just love the energy here, even when it’s not buzzing with the hustle of the markets.
Eastern Market – Detroit!
After Eastern Market, we went over to the Dequindre Cut, right near by. I love how they have made this accessible for people to enjoy while walking or on wheels. From the areas I’ve seen it’s great with cool benches, nice stone work. I know it’s not great in all areas but I appreciate how far it’s come in the stretches that have been improved so far.

We had to finish off the evening with a cherry on top! Taking in the city scenes, making new memories and rooftop dancing under a gorgeous Detroit sunset!
I’m so glad the last shot came together. I’ve been wanting to shoot more off-camera flash here and the sunset was just divine. I think this last image needs to be printed on a vivid metal print. Don’t you agree? This is also where I photographed my Detroit family photo session last summer.

Ah, summertime! Time for family vacations, un-winding, getting your toes in the sand and soaking up the sun! A northern Michigan Family Photo Session is the cherry on top! We went beck to Point Betsie on their last night of the annual summer vacation to northern Michigan. It was our third session here, going back to their maternity session in three years ago. We all enjoyed a gorgeous evening and a beautiful sunset!

Hey, a little late but what can I say, here is my Tween Teen photo session in Detroit with my kids! I do make sure I take the time to do sessions with my kids at least once a year though! This year we went to Detroit for the day. I had been shooting at some cool spots that I thought my kids would enjoy. We took them by the old train station. I’ve been enamored by the place for years. I used to love when the downtown in-line skating routes would take us by this old gem.
From there we went to the Z Garage. I love all the different murals on every level. It was so great to go to a place that even catches the attention of my teen age boys. The boys each picked a spot that fit their interests and personality. My daughter had fun too but I think the nature and small town sessions are more her thing.

And here is the one that made it to the wall! I cherish the wall art of my kids and enjoy looking at them, past and present. Boy, those years go fast!

What a fun Tween Diner Photo Session in Rochester Michigan! My friend Stephanie of LemmonMade Photography was the stylist behind this awesome styled shoot. She is also the brilliant mastermind behind the Detroit teen styled sessions that I took part in last year. A small group of photographers joined in on the fun. We started off at Red Knapp’s Dairy Bar and Diner for malts and of course – photo ops! Bleu is just gorgeous, isn’t she? She is a fabulous tween model!

Ah, I just loved Styled Sessions! I just had to join in when my friend Stephanie summoned me (lol!) and said there would be some tween girls in a styled shoot that she had planned for the next day. Stephanie of LemmonMade Photography was the stylist behind this awesome styled shoot. She is also the brilliant mastermind behind the Detroit teen styled sessions that I took part in last year. I love shooting with Stephanie, and this gorgeous spring evening with beautiful girls was no exception! There were eight other photographers along to join in on the fun. Our entourage sure peaked some curiosity around Rochester.

We had the perfect day for this Rochester Fall Family Photo Session! The temperature and trees were glorious! This family was so much fun! Their little boys are just the cutest!! For this session we met up at Stony Creek Metro Park. We had fun in the trees, enjoyed the walking paths and explored the river that runs through the valley in the woods! You probably want to see their photos by now. 😉
